Developpers of KMyMoney (Thomas, Alvaro, Cristian), Kraft (Klaas, Thomas) and Skrooge (this humble author) have met Friday in Frankfürt, Germany, for the first KDE Finance Sprint. Arnaud, developper of Assuma (previously known as the way-too-long-a-name Association Subscribers Manager) could not make it due to real life issues.
To all testers out there willing to help the Skrooge team, we have released a beta version.
Its main purpose is to get more feedback on imports / exports that Stephane has been working on. In this beta version Skrooge is able to import and export files for :
As previously blogged before, we've been working on KMyMoney and gnucash imports lately. These features are available from the SVN version. We're looking for people volunteering in testing these imports, so if you're interested in the KDE Finances group, give it a try and let us know if you have issues.
By the way, a big thanks to the KMyMoney team for giving us a file we can play with for our tests :)
One of the most requested feature in Skrooge is the ability to exchange data with other applications, such as KMyMoney and gnucash. We already agreed with the KMyMoney folks to work on better interoperability between our two apps. Stéphane put down the first stones of this building with gnucash and KMyMoney import and export functions.
The Skrooge team aims at releasing version 0.6.0 on February 6th. To help us ironing any issue that may have slipped out of our attention, we encourage everyone to test our Release Candidate, available from our Download page, and to report them on bugs.kde.org.
Translators may also do their magic, as this means we are in String Freeze.
So, what's to be expected in this upcoming version ?
Hot on the wheels of our friends at KMyMoney, the Skrooge team releases a beta version of the upcoming 0.6.0 release. The goal here is, unsurprisingly, to find as much bugs as we can, and give translators a string freeze period until the final release (targeted for end of January).
